food of puerto
Mercado
The best days to hit the market are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Everyday
of the week you will beable to find fresh food. On the market days the
fresh local produce is brought in by the truck loads. Fruits, vegetables,
meats, poultries, seafood, herbs, coffee and flowers from the mountains
and the fertile valley of Oaxaca. All food should be peeled or properly
cleaned before eating.

El Mercado is the final destination for all colectivos, and
most of the buses in town. Easiest to take a taxi for the first time.
