Day Forecast for Puerto Escondido
Mainland
Mexico Surf Forecast
RECAP:
Not much surf over the weekend or on Monday with mainly just pulses
of S-SW swell and a little background WNW energy in the water. Most
areas checked in with weak waves down in the knee to waist high zone
then and best breaks weren't much bigger.
OUTLOOK:
The first part of the week stays on the small side then better
SW swell rolls in for the second half of the week.
SHORT-RANGE:
A modest
scale storm off the south end of South America and another low near
New Zealand pushed out a pair of SSW(185-195)/SW(220-225) swells which
will be lapping in over the next few days. Most areas stay in the knee
to waist plus range through mid week. Some of the real wave magnets
(like Puerto Escondido for example) get bigger sets then.
CONDITIONS:
Mainly
mild weather with light to moderate winds through the middle of the
week.
LONG
RANGE:
SPAC: A
series of storms were tracking eastward from under New Zealand and towards
South America last week. SW(205-220) swell generated by those lows starts
moving in on Thursday with waist-chest high plus waves for more areas
and shoulder-head high+ surf for the better exposed breaks. Standouts
see some bigger sets at the standouts. Those heights hold gradually
back down over the weekend but there will still be fun zone stuff left
into Sunday. Stronger Southern Hemi swell setting up now for the second
half of the upcoming week. Stay tuned to the forecast for updates on
that potential swell.
NPAC: North Pacific storms haven't been aimed this way lately so there
are no significant NW swells scheduled for this week. Some steep NW
swell is expected to show at well exposed spots early in the upcoming
week. We'll keep you posted on that one.
