Puerto Surf Forecast

RECAP: SW swell mix was still peaking early on Friday and had many spots in the waist-shoulder high+ range while the standout spots did a little better.

OUTLOOK: SW swell mix will slowly wind down through the end of the weekend. More SW swell on tap for next week.

SHORT-RANGE:
Saturday the first SW swell (200-215) will back down while a small reinforcement of SW energy (205-220) helps to prop up surf heights. On average most spots will be in the waist-shoulder high range while the standouts see some head high sets.

Sunday the SW swell mix will back down slowly. Still playful waist-chest high+ surf for most spots…standouts will be slightly better.

CONDITIONS: Winds will be generally light through the weekend without much activity showing above the 15 knot range. Still plenty of thunderstorm action in the area, so look for gusty breezes associated with these cells at times. Saturday it looks like strong N-NNE winds will likely develop through SW Mexico and parts of El Salvador.

LONG RANGE:
SPAC: Storm activity under New Zealand will be sending us another round of playful sized SW swell (205-220) that will arrive around Tuesday/Wednesday (Aug 2-3). It won't be very powerful but we will still see some waistshoulder high+ sets at the better spots from it as the swell moves into the area. Check out the LOLA SWELL TRACKING MAP to get a feel for the next couple of weeks.

TROPICS: A couple of loosely organized tropical waves are moving off of Central America but there is no tropical storm activity expected for the immediate future.
